Hi, I’m Emily.
I'm a Registered Dietitian, healthcare recruiter, and career coach — and I've spent the last five+ years on the inside of healthcare hiring.
I hold a master's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics, but my career quickly expanded beyond clinical nutrition and into healthcare recruiting, onboarding, career development, communications, and operations.
I've worked with some of the most innovative companies in digital health, including Grow Therapy and Nourish, helping build the people, processes, and systems that support healthcare professionals at scale.
And I've spent years seeing the hiring process from the other side of the table.
I've reviewed thousands of resumes and applications.
I've connected with 3,000+ healthcare professionals.
I've recruited and onboarded thousands of therapists, prescribers, and Registered Dietitians.
At Nourish, I helped onboard 200+ Registered Dietitians every month, building the education, systems, and processes that support them as they step into new roles.
I've had countless conversations with healthcare professionals about their careers—what they want, what they're good at, where they're stuck, and where they want to go next.
And that experience has given me a perspective that most career coaches simply don't have.
I know what happens on the other side of the application.
I know what makes a resume stand out, why highly qualified candidates get overlooked, how hiring teams think about experience, transferable skills, and potential.
I know what makes someone compelling in an interview—and what can quietly work against them. I've seen professionals with incredible experience struggle to communicate their value.
I've also seen people realize that the career they worked so hard to build isn't actually the career they want anymore.
And I've seen just how much potential can get lost when someone doesn't know how to translate everything they've done into what comes next.
Then I became a mother.
And suddenly, the career conversations & questions got significantly more complicated.
I started asking MYSELF different questions:
Does this career fit the life I actually want? What does ambition look like now? What am I willing to sacrifice—and what am I not?
I realized that career decisions don't happen in a vacuum. They happen alongside family, finances, identity, priorities, and the life you're trying to build.
And I know I'm not the only woman whose definition of a great career has changed as her life has changed.
That's why I created Held & Hired.
For women in healthcare navigating what's next — whether that's returning to work, finding more flexibility, changing directions, or simply figuring out what you want now.
You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need the right person in your corner to help you figure out what's next.
